Short Bio
Guilhem Ibos is a CNRS researcher (CRCN) based in Marseille (France). Along his career (which brought him to work in Toulouse, Lyon and Chicago), he quickly specialized in training non-human primates to perform cognitive tasks while recording neuronal activity in parietal and prefrontal cortical networks. His group focuses on how contextual clues shape sensory and cognitive processing.
In a first line of research, they focus on interaction between parieto-frontal networks to control cognitive resources and guide decisions in macaque monkeys. They show that parieto-frontal networks play complementary role in cognitive control and decision-making processes. A second line of research tries to develop marmoset monkeys as a model organism for future cognitive neurophysiology studies. His group investigates both marmosets' tracking strategies and the anatomy of oculomotor networks in order to test how oculomotor behaviors integrate environmental statistics.
