My research focuses on advancing our understanding of the functional interplay between the brain, physiological systems and psychological processes that govern cognition and emotion. My current research program aims to understand how specific prefrontal and cingulate circuits causally impact affective processes, of relevance to disorders such as depression and anxiety, with an overall objective to support the development of neurocircuit-informed interventions that are directly translatable to patients.
